Genus Dispiriferina SIBLIK, 1965 Dispiriferina segregata (Di STEFANO, 1886) (PI. III, Fig. 6; Text-fig. 22) 1886 Spiriferina segregata n.sp. - Di Stefano: p. 44, pl. 1, fig. 18. 1891 Spiriferina segregata Di STEFANO - Di Stefano: p. 173, pl. 1, figs. 8-12. 71930 Spiriferina segregata Di STEFANO - De Gregorio: p. 43, pl. 12, figs. 7-22, pl. Description - External characters: Small shell. The measurements are uncertain due to the poor preservation. The angle between the lateral margins is about 65°. The beak is small and acuminate but the end of the beak is curved. The ventral interarea is relatively narrow but high. The interarea is triangular in outline, its surface is concave. There is a fold on the pedicle valve developing from the beak. The cross-section of the fold is semicircular, gradually widening anteriorly. The pedicle valve is costate. The number of costae is 14 to 16, their crosssection is low and rounded. There are two ribs within the fold and one rib at each edges of fold. There are some growth lines on the shell surface. Internal characters: The internal character remains unknown, because only a fragment of this species was found, so there was no possibility for serial sectioning. Remarks: The examined specimen is very fragmentary but the characteristic costae are clearly visible in the fold of pedicle valve. Dispiriferina segregata is similar to Spiriferina miinsteri but the costae in the fold are absent at the latter. In my opinion De Gregorio's (1930) identification is uncertain, because the beak is less curved on his figures than on the type material. Distribution: According to Aimeras (1964), D. segregata is Sinemurian in age. Apart from the Bakony Mountains, this species is known from Sicily (Taormina, Erice). 13, fig. 1. Material: 1 fragmentary specimen. Dimensions (approx.)(mm): Specimen M.91.21. (Text-fig. 22) length: 6.9, width: 7.4, thickness: 7.3. Text-fig. 22 - Drawing of Dispiriferina segregata
