Description» Test of small to medium size, of 3 whorls, with four chambers each, 4 1/2 in the last one. Chambers semicircular in dorsal view, spherical to ovaloid in lateral view, gradually growing. Spire relatively high. Sutures radial, depressed on both the ventral and the dorsal surfaces. Umbilicus small. Aperture arched, with a narrow lip; intraumbilical, interiomarginal. Wall finely perforate. Note. This species closely resembles Globigerina anguliofficinalis. The main difference is that the sutures of G. angulioff icinalis are deeply cut in U-shape, and its last chamber is smaller and lies nearer to the umbilicus, than the others. Occurrence. Common in all horizons of the Buda Marl. It is present In the Kiscell Clay as well. Budapest region, Bükk Mountains foreland. Globigerina anguliofficinalis Blow (Plate I. 6-7 a-c, VI. 37.) Globigerina anguliofficinalis n.sp., Blow 1969. Proc 1-st. Int. Conf . PI. Microfoss. pp. 379-380 pi. 11. figs. 1-3. Description. Test small, of 2 1/2 whorls; 4 1/2 chambers in the last whorl. Ghambers globular, moderately and gradually growing, loosely coiled. Spire low. Sutures radial, cut in U-shape (a feature that makes identification easy). Cutting in is deeper on the dorsal surface. Umbilicus small and deep. Aperture is a small, arched opening at the basal part of the small last chamber, usually situated nearer to the umbilicus. Wall rugose. Occurrence. It has been found in all three horizon of the Buda Marl and in the Kiscell Clay as well. Bare.
