Langdon has put me in possession of your kind note of yesterday, together with the amount of L 50 " 4/6 which you have been pleased to forward to me as the net proceeds of my lectures at Alexandria. While I beg to tender my best thanks to the Committee both for the effective arrangements and the cordial sympathy which I met from their hands, I beg to assure them, that my visit to the Vale of Leven will it its lasting recollections, always continue to be a source of cheerful consolation, on which my memory shall delight to dwell.
