WRASE (Berlin, Germany) in 2000. - Never mentioned from Hungary before, neither the works of J. FRIVALDSZKY ( 1874) nor CSIKI (1905-1908, 1946), HORVATOVICH (1993), ÁDÁM (1996) contain any reference to this taxon, not even from the Carpathian Basin, therefore this is the first record from the country. Its external characters are very similar to those of the frequent Microlestes minutulus (GOEZE, 1777), so there is a chance that it is actually more widely distributed in Hungary. MÜLLER-MOTZFELD (2004) does not consider it as a Central European species. According to LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) it occurs in the following countries: Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, France, Moldavia, Portugal, Romania, Russia (South European Territory), Spain, Ukraine, Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) in Europe; Algeria, Canary Island, Morocco, Madeira Archipelago, Tunisia in North Africa; Israel, Kazakhstan, Turkey in Asia.
