O. Merkl szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 67. (Budapest, 2006)

STILLER (1, HNHM); [Somogy m.,] Vörs, Kisbalaton, Gyékényes-tó, Vörsi-árok, árvíz futtatott [= from flood deposit], 19. XI. 1950, leg. Z. KASZAB & L. KOVÁCS (1, HNHM); [Vas m.,] Csepreg, IX. 1934, leg. D. RÉVY (1, HNHM); [Veszprém m.,] Zirc, [no other data,] leg. F. LiCHTNECKERT (1, HNHM). Identified by T. KOPECKY (Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic) and GY. SZÉL in 2002-2004. - CSÍKI (1946), HORVATOVICH (1993) and ÁDÁM (1996) do not mention it in their works. In the book of Hûrka (1996) and of MÜLLER-MOTZFELD (2004) it is mentioned under the name Paratachys caspius (KOLENATI, 1845). LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) mentioned it from Hungary by a country code only. TOMAS KOPECKY revised the Hungarian "Paratachys micros" material, and found these specimens (most of the HNHM material) to be P. turkestanicus , contrary to the few specimens of the true Paratachys micros (FISCHER VON WALDHEIM, 1828) (Fig. 15). No one considered P. turkestanicus a valid Central European species before. The countries listed by LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) are the following: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Russia (Central and South European Territory), Slovakia, Ukraine in Europe; Afghanistan, China (Nei Mongol, Xinjiang) Cyprus, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan in Asia. Pterostichus (Petrophilus) calvitarsis BREIT, 1912 (Fig. 14) - Somogy m., Ortilos, medvehagymás-bükkös [= beech forest with Allium ursinum], 1. III. to 1. IV. 2001, tes [= pitfall trap], leg. S. BÉRCES & G. POZSGAI (1 female, HNHM). Identified by D. WRASE (Berlin, Germany) in 2004. - HORVATOVICH (1993) and ÁDÁM (1996) did not list this species, which was so far known as endemic in the Bihar Mts (Romania) (CSIKI 1946, LÖBL & SMETANA 2003). The surprise find of this taxon (now considered a valid species, previously a subspecies of P. foveolatus GEBLER, 1841) at the southwest borders of Hungary (not adjacent to the Bihar region!) is notable. Pterostichus (Petrophilus) foveolatus (DUFTSCHMID, 1812) - [Győr-Moson-Sopron m.], Mosonmagyaróvár, 6. V. 1929, leg. A. RUFF. Identified by GY. SZÉL in 2006. - It was listed neither by HORVATOVICH (1993) nor by ÁDÁM (1996). CSIKI (1946) mentioned it from the Carpathians and Beskydy Mts. According to HÙRKA (1996) it is a Carpathian species, occurring typically in mountain forests, sometimes above timberline, down to foothills. Its appearance in a lowland habitat is somewhat surprising, the occurrence should be confirmed by further records. LÖBL & SMETANA (2003) listed it from the following European countries: Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine.
