FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK Volume 67 2006 pp. 15-17. Record of Forcipata flava Vidano, 1965 in the Carpathian Basin (Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadellidae) S. KOCZOR H-l 134 Budapest, Dózsa György út 126, l/4a, Hungary. E-mail: sakoczor@freemail.hu Abstract - Specimens of Forcipata flava VlDANO, 1965 were collected at the Lake Naplás Nature Reserve (Budapest, Hungary). The species is recorded for the first time from the Hungarian fauna, it has hitherto been known exclusively from Northern Italy and the Caucasus. With 3 figures. Keywords - Auchenorrhyncha, Cicadellidae, Typhlocybinae, Forcipata flava, Carpathian Basin. INTRODUCTION Forcipata flava was described from Northern Italy by VlDANO (1965). In the Palaearctic checklist of NAST (1972) this is the only listed record of the species. Similarly, it is only mentioned from Italy in his work concerning the distributional data of Auchenorrhyncha species of Europe (NAST 1987). In the new edition of the series Faune de France (GlUSTlNA 1989) the species is listed, figures are given, but with the addition, that F. flava has not been recorded in France so far. Furthermore, as the only known distributional data Italy is mentioned. In 1999, GNEZDILOV reported the species from the Caucasus (GNEZDILOV 2000) suggesting, that Forcipata flava belongs to a single species group within the genus, because of the very special morphologic features of male genitalia. Until now, two Forcipata species have been recorded from Hungary: Forcipata citrinella (ZETTERSTEDT, 1828) and Forcipata forcipata (FLOR, 1861). These species belong to two different species groups. With the record of Forcipata flava, three species belonging to three distinct species groups of the genus Forcipata are represented in the Hungarian fauna.
