Figs 1-2. Histiostoma negmi sp. n. (hypopus) — 1: dorsal side, 2: ventral side with the outline of the propodosoma. Both pairs of prodorsal setae long and thick, approximately of the same length. Inner pair arising in front of the outer one. Dorsosejugal region normal, ornamented by striation. Hysterosomal surface smooth. Six pairs of very long and thick and six pairs of very short and thin setae present on the notogastral surface. All long setae directed forward, arcuate, yet robust. Gnathosoma (Fig. 3): Infracapitulum oblong, palpi well differentiated, solenidia very long and thick, setae F well visible, situated behind palpi. Ventral side (Fig. 2): Apodemes strongly chitinized. Anterior epimeres open, ap.sa and ap 2 short, terminating freely, far removed from sejugal apodemes. Latter clearly differentiated from ap 3 and anterio-laterally with concave arches. Intermediate sternal apodeme long, fused anteriorly with sejugal apodemes, posterior sternal apodeme well chitinized, yet short, ending free, far from primordium of genital opening; ap 4 also thick, whole sternocoxal region well chitinized. Epimeres 1, 3 and 4 bearing well developed suckers, larger on epimeres 4. Adhering plate of normal size and development. Legs (Figs 4-7): All legs with normal claws. Adhering setae of tarsus of leg I large, and trumpet-shaped, those of legs II—IV, thin and setiform, approximately of the same length. Group of solenidia of tarsus of leg I with co, shorter than (p r but longer than co 3 , solenidia CÙ ] of tarsus of leg II much bigger than (p,, solenidia Ô, on genua of legs I and II, short and thin. Material examined — Holotype and 2 paratypes, manure of animals, Shandaweel animal-farm, Sohag, Egypt. 10.10.1997. Leg. S. A. Eraky.
