broad. - Head in dorsal view (Fig. 36) transverse, 1.85 times as broad as long, eye just longer than temple, latter rounded; occiput hardly excavate. Ocelli small and round, POL shorter than OOL. Eye in lateral view 1.8 times as high as wide, temple beyond eye evenly wide and a bit wider than eye (Fig. 37, see arrows). Clypeus three times as wide as high, its lower margin moderately convex (Fig. 38), distance between two tentorial pits one-third longer than shortest distance between pit and eye. Head polished. Mesosoma in lateral view 1.2 times as long as high. Notaulix evenly deep and finely crenulate. Precoxal suture short and finely crenulate. Propodeum rugose laterally, medially with a five-sided areola basalis, laterally without a pair of tubercules (Fig. 39). Mesosoma polished. - Hind femur 3.7 times as long as broad distally, hind basitarsus as long as tarsomeres 2-3 combined. Fore wing as long as body. Pterostigma (Fig. 40) 2.7 times as long as wide and issuing r from its middle, 3-4-SR bent, marginal cell along metacarp (1-R1) somewhat shorter than pterostigma. Carapace globose (Fig. 41), as long as mesosoma and 1.3 times as long as broad at second suture. Medially second tergite somewhat longer than first tergite and twice as broad behind as long medially. Tergites 1-2 longitudinally and finely striate with less anastomoses (Fig. 41), tergite 3 laterally with very fine striation, medially uneven to smooth. Tergites shiny. Carapace in lateral view three times as long as high (Fig. 42, see arrows). Hind margin of third tergite rounded (Fig. 43). Ground colour of body brown (head and mesosoma somewhat darker). Antenna brownish yellow, palpi pale yellow, mandible yellow. Legs yellow, hind tibia faintly brownish, hind tarsomeres with faint brownish suffusion. Wings subhyaline, pterostigma light brown, veins opaque brown. Female and host unknown. Distribution: Tanzania. Running over the key to the species of the genus Triaspis of Zaire (or the former Belgian Congo) by De Saeger (1948: 215-216) and comparing the original description of T. wittei De Saeger, 1948 T. pygmaeus is very near to this species (De Saeger did not know Szépligeti's species in nature); Schizoprymnus crusta (De Saeger, 1948) comb. n. and Schizoprymnus monticola (De Saeger, 1948) comb. n. (both species described originally in the genus Foersteria Szépligeti from Zaire) are also related to T. pygmaeus, the four species are differentiated by the features keyed below (I know S. crusta and S. monticola in nature, T. wittei by its description): 1 (4) Second tergite less transverse, at most 1.5-1.6 times as broad behind as long medially (Figs 44, 51). Lower margin of clypeus laterally concave, medially more or less truncate (Figs 45, 48). 2 (3) Median truncate part of clypeus as long as its lateral concave part (Fig. 45). In lateral view eye 1.4 times as wide as temple (Fig. 46, see arrows). Nervulus (cu-a) interstitial (Fig. 47, see arrow). Ovipositor sheath short, about as long as hind tarsus. Tegulae dark brown. 96: 2-2.2 mm Schizoprymnus crusta (De Saeger) comb. n. 3 (2) Lower margin of clypeus biconcave or almost bisinuate, i.e. its median truncate part very short (Fig. 48). In lateral view eye as wide as temple (Fig. 49, see
