Huber), 1 S (Ottawa); Nevada: Beifrage, 1 â (Budapest); Colorado: Am. bor. (no more data), 1 9 (C. F. Baker) and 1 6 (Washington). Especially the males of this and of the next species are not satisfactorily separable. Distribution: USA (widespread), South Canada (Kimsey and Bohart 1991). According to Kimsey and Bohart (1991: 57): "purpuratus more closely fits that of alienus with partially black abdomen"; also I propose it to be transferred under the "alienus" group.
