Genus Icalantica gen. n. Type-species: Apterogyna lateritia Morawitz, 1890; by present designation. Diagnosis. Both sexes with a dense, rather conspicuous apical patch of pale pube­scence on first and second terga, occupying middle third to a quarter of tergal width (Fig. 23); temples behind eyes without adorbital groove; male first tergum disciform, abruptly declivous, its anterior face perpendicular to the dorsal disc; female second tergum wholly black or narrowly red on the very margin (Fig. 23). Distribution. Contains three species: 1. /. lateritia (Morawitz, 1890) comb. n. ( = A. judaica Invrea, 1950, syn. n.; A. nonveilleri Invrea, 1957, syn. n.; A. stancici Invrea, 1965, syn. n.; A. taurica Panfilov, 1954, syn. n.; A. wahrmani Invrea, 1965, syn. n.), both sexes known, from Crimea, Greece, Israel, Macedonia, Turkey, Turkistan; Apterogyna palestinensis Invrea, 1965 and A. palestinensis f. scutellaris Invrea, 1965 differ in only minor colour-patterns from this species and very probably are also synonymous. 2. /. mlokosewitzi (Radoszkowski, 1879), comb, n., both sexes known, from Iran, Israel, Mo­rocco, Tunisia, Turkistan. 3. A. pici (Andre, 1896), comb, n., both sexes known, from Al­geria, Israel. Genus Utapitoca gen. n. Type-species: Apterogyna latreillei Klug, 1829; by present designation. Diagnosis. Male either has a fringe and a wide yellow stripe on second tergum, or has none; temples behind eyes with (some males) or without (both sexes) adorbital groove; first tergum slightly to very abruptly declivous; female always with a compact apical fringe on second tergum, formed by setae strongly bent from the sides toward the center (Fig. 34). Distribution. Contains three species: 1. U. fodinae (Peringuey, 1914) comb, n., fe­male known, from Botswana, Zimbabwe (status doubtful, it differs in minor differences only, of the stronger body sculpture, from the forthcoming species). 2. U. klugi (Andre, 1899) comb. n. (= A. mateui Giner Mari, 1945, syn. n.; A. mateui f. bicolor Giner Mari, 1945, syn. n.; A. mickeli Giner Mari, 1945, syn. n.; A. mickeli f. nilotica Invrea, 1953, syn. n.; A. alfierii Invrea, 1963, syn. n.; A. bytinskii Invrea, 1965, syn. n.; A. helenae In­vrea, 1965, syn. n.), both sexes known, from Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Israel, Morocco. 3. U. latreillei (Klug, 1829) comb, n., both sexes known, from Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan; a fairly nice series of 70 females from "Africa or. (ientale), Katona (= Dr. K. Kittenberger)", "Assab 10-20. III. 1907" are deposited in the collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; some very small-sized females have the vertex less vaulted than usual for this species, but the broadly yellow apical margin of second tergum made it easy to recognize. Tribe Pauxorculini nov. Diagnosis. Diurnal; both sexes without median patch or apical fringe on first two terga, but third tergum with a broad, basal integumental yellowish white stripe in female,
