FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK LV 1994 p. 21-22 A new Dinaraea species from Hungary (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae) L. Ádám A new Dinaraea species from Hungary (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae). - Dinaraea hungarica sp. n. is described from Hungary. I have identified the material of Staphylinidae deposited in the Janus Pannonius Museum (Pécs, Hungary) and found the following new Dinaraea species. Dinaraea hungarica sp. n. In general appearance similar to the other Dinaraea species, particularly to Dinaraea angustula (Gyllenhal, 1810). Body somewhat flattened, finely and isodiametrically reticulated, weakly shining; pitch-black in colour, elytra, antennae, mouthparts and legs reddish brown. Head rounded quadrangular, subequal in length and width, finely and densely reticulated; punctuation indistinct. Clypeus relatively wide and flattened. Eyes weakly convex, barely shorter than temple. Temples bordered only at the neck. Antennae moderately long, weakly widening toward apex. Antennái segments II and III subequal in length; segment IV shorter than segment III; segments IV-V subquadrate; segments VI-X weakly transverse, 1.2-1.5 times wider than long; segment XI large, as long as segments IX and X combined. Pronotum subquadrate, widest at middle, arcuately narrowing toward apex and base; basal margin arched; posterior angles rounded. Reticulation of pronotum similar to that of head; punctuation fine and indistinctly asperate. Hairs of pronotum directed forwards at longitudinal midline and directed arcuately toward lateral margin elsewhere. Inclined lateral margin of pronotum visible in lateral aspect. Elytra approximately parallel-sided, longer than pronotum; suture as long as pronotum. Reticulation of elytra as that of pronotum; punctuation distinct and finely asperate. Posterior margin of elytra almost straight; outer posterior angles emarginate. Abdomen approximately parallel-sided; tergites finely reticulated; punctuation fine and indistinctly asperate; pubescence fine and dense. Abdominal tergites III—VI with a transversal impression at base. Posterior margin of tergite VII narrowly bordered by a pellicle. Posterior margin of tergite and sternite VIII rounded. Legs moderately long; tarsal formula: 4, 5, 5. Spermatheca: Fig. 1. Length: 3.2 mm.
