The new species is very close to Aleuropteryx arabica Meinander, 1977, however, has some distinctive features. On the first wing: - There is not a hyaline spot along the longitudinal part of SC2 • - Beside some others, there is a hyaline spot at the basal part of R s , and the spots give a cruciform pattern in the middle of the wing. In the male genitalia: - The dorso-lateral appendages of ninth sternite are parallel with each other, and do not point inwards to form an acute angle (as in A. arabica ) . - Tips of transverse plate are pointed, the incision is deep, and before the transverse plate there is another chitinised plate which is connectea with the dorso-lateral appendage through a band. - There is a dorsal crest. - The lateral appendages of penis are rounded. Bionomical remark: The single specimen of this species was collected at light, in a dry savanna with very poor arboreal vegetation. Aleuropteryx teleki sp.n. (Figs 6-10) Holotype: male; "6. Feb. 1988. Tanzania, Lake Natron, 3 km from the south end of the lake, leg. A. Vojnits" - deposited in the collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. Description: Head brown, eyes black. Antennae brown, the scape is darker than pedicel or first five flagellar segments. The other flagellar segments are again darker. (The end of flagellum is broken.) Scape about one and a half times as long as pedicel, pedicel about twice as long as the first flagellar segment. The spine on pedicel is subapical. Thorax and legs are brown. Length of fore wing 1.8 mm. Membrane light brownish gray. There are light spots at-the end of veins. Between the endings of veins there are darker territories, and within them lighter spots i.Fig.6). Length of hind wing 1.5 mm, membrane almost hyaline . Male genitalia: Apophysis of ninth sternite proximally slightly broadening (in lateral view). The distal process very broad, its caudal appendage ends in two pointed tips. On the dorsal side of ring of ninth sternite there is a distally broadening plate. It ends in two lateral knots, and its dorsal surface is scabrous. Penis caudally ending in two apophyses. The paired lateral, and unpaired basal appendages of penis are narrow. Between the penis and ninth sternite a thin ring-like growth present . A. teleki comes close to Aleuropteryx felix Meinander, 1977 and Aleuro pteryx wawrikae Rausch et H. Aspöck , 1978, but with respect to genitalia it is nearer to the first one . Distinctive features: - Colour of first wing is similar to that of A. wawrikae ( and differs from the light winged A. felix ), but there are light spots within the darker territories between the ending of veins. - Proximal apophysis of ninth sternite is moderately widening ( more than in A. felix , less than in A . wawrikae ). - Caudal appendage of distal process differs from that of the two allied species . - Dorsal plate above the penis ending in lateral knots, while in the case of A. felix in two blunt apophyses near to a median. - Basal appendage of penis is narrower than in the case of the two allies. I name this new species in honour of Sámuel TELEKI, the Hungarian East Africa explorer of the last century. Bionomical remark: The single specimen of A. teleki sp.n. was collected at light in a dry savanna with very poor arboreal vegetation. Until now a single Aleuropteryx species was known from the Afrotropical Region: Aleuropteryx argentata Tjeder, 1957 ( from South West Africa), which is a separated member of the genus ( Meinander, 1972, 1979). The two new afrotropical species are not closely related to A. argentata , but they are allied to Aleuropteryx species living in the arid southern parts of the Palaearctic Region. A. felix from Jemen . Meinander, 1977', A. wawrikae from Morocco (Rausch et Aspöck, 1978' and A. teleki obviously give a homogeneous group, which is characterized by the narrow ninth sternite with narrow proximal apophyses and with a broad distal process, by penis which posteriorly has a longer and a
