Remarks: The most characteristic feature of this species is the sparsely punctate and pubescent pronotum. Casnonides hystrix also has the punctate pronotum, but in that species, the puntation is much denser, the puntures are not bearing setae, the colour pattern, the shape of body and the relative length of the last antennái segment of male are strikingly different. (Figs 31, 34) Head yellow, sometimes partly blackish; pronotum yellow; elytra largely yellow with apex black to a variable extent (usually from level of abdominal sternite IV); epipleura blackish in posterior part, anteriorly to the level of the middle of metasternum (sometimes this colouration reaches elytral base); ventral surface yellow or meso- and metasternum blackish; antennae black, segments I and II yellowish; legs yellow to blackish. Length: 7. 88. 2 mm.
