6*. Head not broader than pronotum; with two flat impressions between eyes; vertex weakly swollen; EI= 12: 14; antennae rather stout, relative length ratios of segments: 8:4: 9:9:9:10:10:10:10:9:20. Pronotum transverse , widest in anterior 1/4, base much nar­rower: surface impunctate, glabrous. Elytra with all punctural rows reaching apex; striai punctures coarse, separated by distances shorter than puncture diameter; intervals convex; paired intervals entirely glabrous; unpaired intervals with setigerous punctures scattered throughout whole length; interval I with 17, III with 18, V with 17, VII with 18, IX with 18, lateral margin with 12 setigerous punctures; setae brownish, moderately long; apex simply rounded. Legs with hairs moderately long, suberect. Last abdominal sternite simply round­ed. Aedeagus: Fig. 34. JS (1 S, BPBM); Wau, 1050-1150 m, 13. X. 1961-7.1.1963, JS, JHS (4 Stf. 1 <j>, BPBM; 1 6, 2 22> SPCB; 1 5, HNHM ex BPBM; 1 3, HNHM ex SPCB). Remarks: This species is similar to Casnonidea variabilis (Macleay, 1887), but the colour pattern of the elytra clearly distinguishes it. Casnonidea flavipes sp n. (Figs 35, 41) Head, pronotum, scutellum and ventral surface dark blackish brown to black; elytra blackish brown, rarely unicolorous, usually with a variable number of irregular pale spots spots may partly be confluent and more numerous on humeral part; antennae brown with 2 basal segments somewhat reddish; legs pale yellow, often semitranslucent. Length: 9. 5­11,2 mm.
