Elytra with all punctural rows reaching apex; striai punctures moderately coarse, contiguous; intervals flat; all intervals with numerous (over 30) setigerous punctures scattered throughout whole length; these punctures not arranged in regular rows; setae whitish, moderately long, somewhat bristle-like; elytral apex simply rounded. Remarks: The numerous setae on all elytral intervals combined with the distinctly punctured but entirely glabrous pronotum are diagnostic for this species. Casnonidea punctithorax sp. n. (Figs 30, 33) Body usually dark reddish brown to black, with head and pronotum and pronotum darker, elytra slightly paler; elytra sometimes irregularly mottled with ochre; in one case, pronotum and basal 1/3 of elytra pale ochre, rest of elytra mottled. Length: 9. 2-10. 1 mm. S. Head not broader than pronotum; with some setigerous punctures between eyes; vertex moderately swollen, with distinct longitudinal furrow; EI= 14: 12; antennae rather slender, segment length ratios: 10: 5: 11: 11; 11: 13: 13: 14: 14: 14: 23. Pronotum slightly transverse, widest in anterior 1/3, base nearly as wide; surface with few scattered punctures (situated mainly laterally) bearing moderately long, whitish, semierect setae. Elytra with all punctural rows reaching apex; striai punctures moderately coarse, contiguous; intervals less convex; all intervals with many (over 30) setigerous punctures scattered throughout whole length; these not arranged in two rows; setae whitish, fine, moderately long; elytral apex simply rounded. Legs with hairs rather short, nearly decumbent, fine. Last abdominal sternite simply rounded. Aedeagus: Fig. 33. Habitus: Fig. 30. g.
