General colour dark brown, variegated with yellow or reddish yellow. Antennae long, multijointed. Tegmen long or short, wings short, usually visible, sometimes concealed or possibly absent. Male forceps relatively broad, arcuate, with one inner tooth towards apex, tooth directed ventro-medially. - Material examined: 76 ex. Obozr., 3: 197. - Terra typica: Central Asia (Type male: Zoological Institute and Museum, Leningrad). - syn. n . Male head black or variegated with dark reddish brown; antennae very dark brown; pronotum brown or brownish black medially, and yellowish laterally; tegmina dark brownish black with a smaller or larger, oval yellowish patch near humeral suture; wings blackish marginally, and yellow Figs 1-4. Anechura bipunctata (Fabricius): 1 = male ultimate tergite and forceps, 2 = ditto, in lateral view, 3 = male genitalia, and 4 = basal vesicle of male genital lobe basally; legs yellowish brown; abdomen and forceps brownish black. Head longer than broad, tumid; postfrontal and coronal sutures well marked. Eyes comparatively small, slightly shorter than length of head behind eyes. Antennae 11-jointed; first joint large, but a little shorter than distance between antennái bases; second transverse, third longer than fourth. Pronotum transverse, lateral margins more or less parallel-sided; posterior margin rounded. Tegmina and wings well developed. Abdomen fusiform, glandular lateral folds on tergites three and four present. Ultimate tergite characteristic, transverse; lateral part with a large, obtuse denticle; posterior margin trisinuate.Forceps (Fig, 1) strongly curved horizontally and vertically; each branch of forceps cylindrical in cross-section, dorsal section with a very large denticle, directed forwards (Fig. 2); inner margin with a smaller ventral tooth at apical half. Genitalia (Fig. 3) large, fully developed; central parameral plate broad, virga within genital lobe very long with a large basal vesicle basally (Fig. 4); lateral margins of vesicle parallel-sided, simple. Female similar to male, but forceps straight, tapering.
