punctured, with short yellow setae. Legs without setae except for the dense short setae on the inner side of the tibiae. Seventh ventral segment of the male deeply triangularly excised. - Length 5 mm. Holotype d* , Mount Michael, 23.xii.1964, paratype same data (R. HORNABROOK). Stilicopsis setosus sp. n. This species is smaller than Stilicopsis (Astenus) cameroni B & S., but the pronotum and elytra have the same black bristles except that they are longer; the antennae are much shorter. Aedeagus fig. 10. - Reddish-yellow. Head as broad as long, umbilicate-reticulate, the longitudinal diameter of the eyes slightly smaller than the length of temples which have quite long setae. Labrum finely denticulate, antennae short, segments one to six longer than broad, seven quadrate, eight to ten transverse, last segment longer than the penultimate; basal segment with setae, Pronotum very slightly longer than broad, umbilicate-reticulate, broadest at anterior corners with long lateral bristles. Elytra transverse (2.0:1.5) shining, strongly punctured, shorter than pronotum, with long bristles. Abdomen, with paratergites, broader than elytra indistinctly punctured, with long lateral bristles. Anterior tibiae with an indentation at middle of inner face from which two short setae emerge. - Length 3 mm. Holotype cT, Okasa, ll.vii.1965, leaf mould in pine forest 3,600 ft, paratypes (6 ex.) same data, also (1 ex.) 8.viii. 1965. Stilicoderus solitarius sp. n. Compared with S. hierglyphicus (Fauv.) this species does not have the puncturation of the head so fine, the temples are more gradually converging to the neck, the granulation of the pronotum and elytra is not so dense, puncturation of the elytra is stronger. Aedeagus fig. 11. Black, antennae, palpi and legs dark reddish. Head transverse (3.5:2.75) orbicular, finely and very densely punctured, eyes convex, their longitudinal diameter a little less than the length of the temples; labrum broad, slightly denticulate, with two central "teeth"; antennae with all segments longer than broad, from third segment progressively slightly shorter, second segment half the length of the first,"" last four segments almost moniliform, with a few setae. Pronotum a little longer than broad (3.5:3.0), very finely and densely granulate, broadest at anterior third, strongly narrowed to the neck, posterior margin broader with sparse very short pubescence. Elytra a little longer than broad (4.5:4.0) parallel-sided strongly but irregularly punctured, interstices very finely granulate. Abdomen extremely finely punctured and pubescent. Legs finely pubescent, front tibiae with an indentation from which are three black bristles. - Length 5 mm. Holotype d", Awande, Okapa, 27.ix. 1965. Stilicoderus aerosus sp. n. Larger than S. hieroglyphicus (Fauv.) and S. solitariu s sp. n., it also has stronger puncturation of the elytra and these are more shining due to the absence of the fine granulation of soli tarius . The elytra varies in colour but is usually bronze, some are lighter than others. The aedeagus is similar to solitarius but larger. Holotype d, Offafina, 28. v. 1965, dead branches on ground. Paratype same data. Paratypes also from Okapa, 28.Hi. 1965 (1 ex); Maye near Okapa, 5. vi. 1965 (4 ex); Okasa, 8.viii. 1965, forest litter, 4500 ft, (3 ex); Okasa, ll.vii.1965, 3600 ft (4 ex); Okapa, 28. vi. 1965 (3 ex); Okapa, 27.viii. 1965 (5 ex); Okapa, 25.ix. 1967 (1 ex); Awande near Okapa, 27.ix. 1965 (3 ex); Okapa Road, 17.iii.1973 (1 ex); N.Kainantu, 10.Hi. 1973 (3 ex); Okapa, 21.ix. 1971 (2 ex).
