JENSER (Received May 10, 1984) Abstract: Seventeen species of Thysanoptera found In Afghanistan are listed together with locality and other pertaining data. These are the first records of these species for Afghanistan. Aeolothrlps afghanus is described as a new species. Dr. L. PAPP had the opportunity In the year of 1974 to make a zoological collecting trip in Afghanistan. He also collected Thysanoptera species. Subsequenthy I give new data to the Thysanoptera fauna of Afghanistan. I should especially like to thank Dr. J. PELIKAN (Brno) for his help and his advice while preparing my work. Netted and singled on riverside and in dry river bed. 10 May, 1974; 4 cf 16 $ Kabul, Bin! Hesar, 1820 m. Netted on weeds (mainly Sinapis arvensis and Lepidlum draba); 2 ç Prov. Logar, Moghulkhel, about 200 m. Netted on a clover-field with weeds (mainly Gruclferae). 14 May. 1974; 1 g Prov. Kabul, Bin! Hesar lake, 1780 m. Netted and singled on mud and on lake-shore vegetation. 17 May, 1974; 1 o Herat, 980 m. Netted in a vineyard and in flower-gardens. 20 May, 1974. Aelothrlps Unarms Prlesner, 1948 - 4 cf Kabul, Allabad. University park. Netted material. 20-21 April, 1974; 2 cf 28 c> Prov. Kabul, Bin! Hesar, 1820 m. Netted on weeds (mainly SInapis arvensis and Lepidlum draba). 12 May, 1974; 6 cf 29 $ Prov. Logar, Moghulkhel, about 2000 m. Netted on a clover-field with weeds (mainly Cruciferae). 14 May, 1974; 2 cf 1 $ Prov. Herat, Hari Rud river, 950 m. Netted and singled on riverside. 21 May, 1974; 2 $ Kandahar 1000 m. Netted on flowering Umbelllferae. 23 May, 1974. Aeolothrlps astutus Prlesner, 1926 - 20 ç. Prov. Kabul, Tshemtala, 1800 m. Netted and singled on pastures. 18 May, 1974.
