1 with distinct and scattered punctures before posterior polished margin, tergite 2 shagreened basally, deeply and rather densely punctured (fig, 100), with smaller scattered punctures over interspaces, latter only laterally smaller or as long as punctures, tergite 3 alutaceous and with distinct punctures. Sternite 2 with very deep and dense punctures. - o_ . - Unknown. Holotype: o. "Sri Lanka: Mate Dist.Kiblssa, 0.5 ml W.Sigarfya", "2-VII-1978 Malaise trap coll. KV.KROMBEIN" (Washington USNM Type No. 101159). This species in related to S. wählst sp. n., but differs from It especially by the largely not black thorax, by its mesonotum remarkably coarsely punctured, by the not slender antennae, by the longer spine of propodeum, by ocelli not forming an acute angle; it differs from S.ceylonlcus Móczár, 1979 by mesonotum without shallow and small punctures, by the antennae not being brown, by lateral margins of propodeum not being straight, by tergite 1 not being densely punctured etc. Sulcomesitius wähl si sp. n. o* . - Length 4.1-4.5 mm. Head yellowish red with a larger Indistinctly margined dark spot on frons around ocelli up to occipital carina medially, antennae brown, lower side partly light brownish rufous, thorax black, tegulae and legs brown excepting tibiae basally and apically, as well as yellowish brown tarsi, abdomen black, tergite 1 dark reddish translucent, tergites 3-6 yellowish red. Wings normal, fore wings light brownish infuscate, excepting hyaline base and a spot outside of cells. Veins, pterostigma brown. Body with sparse white hairs, antennae with dense short proclinate hairs (fig. 104). Head as long as broad (44 : 44), broadened behind eyes, outer margins nearly parallel only slightly convergent when viewed from above (fig. 102), posterior corners rounded; occipital carina moderately arched, ocelli in an acute angle (fig. 102), separated from eyes by a distance 1.54 times longer than from each other, POL.'OOL = 10:6.5, outer margins of ocelli with shining narrow grooves: head shagreened, densely but not deeply punctured (fig. 102) frontal sulcus not developed; eye convex, elongated, longer than broad (18 : 15), separated from mandibles by the length of antennái joint 2 (8); anterior margin of clypeus protruding medially, with obtuse corners laterally, strongly diverging towards basis and raised longitudinally into a sharp high keel medially. Antennae remarkably slender and long (fig. 104), joints 1, 3-8 at least twice or 9-11 and 13 thrice longer than broad, joint 2 1.60 times longer than broad, 3 1.62 times longer than 2, joints 4-8 2.5 times longer than broad, length (and breadth) proportions of antennái joints 1-13 = 14(6): 8(5): 13(5): 10(4): 10(4): 10(4): 10(4): 10(4): 9(3): 9(3): 9.5(3): 8(3): 11(3). Pronotum 1.54 times broader in front than its length medially (34 : 22), anterior corners distinctly protruding (fig. 102) owing to a wrinkle emerging on lateral sides and reaching corners, lateral sides of pronotum concave anteriorly and diverging towards tegulae, posterior margin arched, surface with rather deep and dense punctures, interspaces shagreened, punctures shining and larger than those on head, longitudinal furrow rather deep, long but ending before posterior margin (fig. 102). Mesonotum remarkably more finely sculptured, weakly shining only with very small and dense punctures, parapsidal furrow moderately developed (fig. 103), notaulices very deep and with sharp margins, strongly converging anteriorly and running nearly parallel before its end, longitudinal furrow present only in a shallow shining line (on holotype) or deeper with sharp margin (on paratype). Scutellum finely alutaceous with scattered smaller punctures anteriorly and with some larger deeper punctures posteriorly (fig. 103), basal furrow absent. Half breadth of propodeum slightly broader than its length medially (22 : 19, holotype and 23 : 20 paratype), lateral margins distinctly (holotype) or hardly (paratype) convex medially, lateral spines short, strong, acute viewed from above and also from the side, propodeum only 2.11-2.22 times longer than spine (9:19-20), all carinae and areas present, sublateral area finely striated, lateral ones wrinkled transversally. Lateral sides of disc just along upper margin with a strong parallel wrinkle reaching to spine. Episternum shagreened, deeply and densely punctured, similar to pronotum, with smooth alutaceous area below tegulae. Abdominal tergite 1 smooth polished, with scattered fine punctures medially and laterally, tergite 2 densely and rather deeply punctured (fig. 105) medially (punctures distinctly finer than on S. kiblssaensis sp. n. (fig. 100) and very densely laterally without minute punctures between larger, ones, basis of tergite 2 finely shagreened, posterior margins as well as tergites 3-6 finely alutaceous. Sternite 2 very deeply and densely punctured. - ft « .,- Unknown. Holotype: O^'Sri Lanka: Amp.Dist.Ekgal Aru; 100 mtrs. Reservoir Jungle 19-22 February 1977", "K.V.KROMBEIN, P.B. KARUNARATNE, P.
