Antero-ventral sclerite never touching postero-ventral plate, or meeting it along a large section. Male with two genital lobes of penis directed anterlorad or posteriorad on paramer plate,that is,one may be directed anteriorad and the öfter posteriorad, or, as for instance in species of Karschiellinae , one of the lobes may be reduced. The species of the family are of circum equatoria to antipodal in distribution, in large lines living in the area indicated on map Ho. 1 (marked with black).
