In the course of the examination of 6 to 11 years old children living in children’s homes it was ascertained that the lactobacillus number did not change significantly neither in the xylitol nor in the fluoride group while the Candida albicans number -decreased, particularly in the xylitol group.

Im Laufe der Untersuchung von 6—11jährigen in Kinderheimen lebenden Kinder wurde festgestellt, daß sich die Lactobacillus-Zahl weder in der Xilit noch in der Fluorgruppe wesentlich geändert hat, während sich die Candida Jalbicans-Zahl, insbesondere in der Xilit-Gruppe verringerte.
