TANULMÁNYOK - Klinda Mária: Proveniencia-kutatás és egy elveszettnek hitt esztergomi brevárium a Fővárosi Szabó Ervin Könyvtárban

Mária Kiinda PROVENIENCE RESEARCH AND A BREVIÁRIUM STRIGONIENSE BELIEVED LOST IN THE METROPOLITAN ERVIN SZABÓ LIBRARY The catalogue of the prints printed before 1601 and possessed by the Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library published in 2001 (BCB Cat.) also describes the data of provenience of the copies. These can be found mostly as handwritten notes in ex-libris forms or ownership stamps in these books, but many times external sources have to be involved to find out the former possessors. It happened in case of the books which had been formerly in the possession of bishop Lőrinc Schlauch, the bibliophile collector or in the library of Esztergom Cathedral. Among the latters there is an incomplete copy of the Breviárium Strigoniense published in Venice (BCB Cat. 117) in 1524 which also contains a handwritten version of two Hungarian medieval elevation hymns, presumably coming from the beginning of the 17th century. The complete text of these versions has not been published yet. 237
