Kizárólag csak a megvallott és megbánt, majd szabályszerűen elrendezett, s Jézus vére alá került bűnök után törik meg az ördög hatalma felettünk, azaz megerőtlenül, semmivé válik az a jogerő, amin keresztül a Sátán fogságban tartotta lelkünket. A másik fajta joggal kapcsolatosan a Jelenések 22:14-ben kapunk tudósítást. „Boldogok, akik megtartják az Ő parancsolatait, hogy joguk legyen az életnek fájához, és bemehessenek a kapukon a városba.” Ez az igei kijelentés világos és egyértelmű. Annyit azonban meg kell jegyezni, hogy Jézus Krisztus mindig törésre viszi a dolgot: vagy Ő, vagy a Sátán! Jézus követése mindenféle megosztottságot kizár, egész embert kíván. Útján való járás — parancsolatainak a megtartása, tulajdonképpen átfogja az egész életet, és magába foglalja a teljes életutat. Olyan, mint egy egyenes vonal. Nem véletlen, hogy a jelzett Igével a Bibliának éppen az utolsó lapján találkozunk. Ez is igen sokat mond... Ez az út a szentség útja — ahová a Sátán nem léphet. A nagy cél felé ezen az úton biztosan haladhat a megváltott ember. Az élet fájához való jog tehát kizárólag a parancsolatokat mindvégig híven megtartó Isten gyermekeinek a privilégiuma, azoké, akik követik a Bárányt, valahová csak megy. Venyercsán László Buffalo, New York, on November 15, 1932. Being the son of a Hungarian Baptist minister, he gained his primary education in the cities of his fathers’ parishes. During his high school years he accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized by his father in the Hungarian Baptist Church of Akron, Ohio. Sensing a call to the ministry, he enrolled in City College (NYC) where he received his B. A. degree in education. He then enrolled in the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pa. where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 1959. He served American Baptist Churches in the Bronx, N.Y., St.Louis, Mo., Philadelphia, Pa., and Freehold, N.J. He felt the need for greater study and thus enrolled at the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, California, where he received his Doctor of Ministry Degree in 1977. Since that date he has served as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Monravia, California. Dr. George Balia is no stranger to our Hungarian Baptist Convention. He has been present and has made presentations at a number of our annual meetings. He is the son of the late Rev. George Balia and Mrs. Elizabeth Balia who still serves the Lord faithfully at our Bethesda Baptist Church in Palm Bay, Florida. (E.J.K.) By his presence at each of these services, he adds much; by his absence, although he may not oppose the particular service, he causes much harm. My ideal deacon would be a tither. The ideal deacon sets the pattern for his brethren in faithful stewardship of his possessions through the proper use of his portion and the giving to God of His share. My ideal deacon would not be nearsighted; he would see, beyond the needs and the wants of his congregation, to the needs of the last person on this earth without Christ. My ideal deacon would be soulwinner. His heart would beat with a passion to see men saved. He would follow the footsteps of Philip in presenting the claims of Christ, to whomsoever God might bring across his pathway. My ideal deacon would be a personal friend. He would be one to whom I could go and talk things over. He would be a counsellor, a confidant, a comforter, a companion, a friend. There are not many ideal deacons, as there are not many ideal pastors, but thank the Lord, there are many who are doing their best “to use the office of deacon well” and “are purchasing to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (I.
