TÓTH BALÁZSNÉ ETIKAI VILÁGKÉP ES ERKÖLCSI ERTEKEK BRANDENSTEIN BÉLA ETIKÁJÁBAN Abstract: {Ethos and Moral Values in the ethics of Béla Brandenstein): This paper is based on Béla Brandenstein's ethics, which was published in Budapest in 1938. Here, this essay stresses the importance of Brandenstein's thought that the first step towards building a value-study is to clarify the methaphisical bases of thics, because the moral of values have manifold connections with the real world. In interpreting and characterising these values Brandenstein considers the already well-known tendencies in ethics, then he analyses the rich world of values. He reveals the values in detail, and at the top of the hierarchy of values he places religious values. On the bases of the above the ethos and the christian mentality of Brandenstein become clear. This paper examines the valuable elements as well as the questionable parts of his theory. The theory of Béla Brandenstein is a very important document of Hungarian philosophical thinking. A század 20-as éveiben kezdődött az osztrák katona-báró családból származó Brandenstein Béla filozófusi pályafutása. Pauler Ákos tanítványa volt, de szemléletében tőle eltérő vonásokkal rendelkezett. Korán ért el sikereket, 26 éves korában már egyetemi magántanár a budapesti egyetemen, és ekkor jelenik meg német nyelven a Grundlegung der Philosophie, a Bölcseleti alapvetés című munkája.
