armiju i zrakoplovstvo. SUMMARY CONSERVATION OF A BIG QUANTITY OF SATURATED DOCUMENTS AND BOOKS BY DEEP FREEZING The text accounts of the most frequent causes of saturation of big quantities of documents and books and the ways and possibilities of the drying process. The attention has been given to the method of drying the deep frozen material in vacuum is by no means something new, it is which used for instance in the food- and farmaceutical industry, but the drying of documents and books by this method was for the first time mentioned only some ten years ago. However, as the vacuum drying process requires special apparatus, that very frequently is not at disposal, so the possibility of conservation of the saturated material in the deep frozen condition has been examined, followed by a successive treatment in the classical way. The text provides the survey of the relevant literature, as well as the author's attempts at testing the procedure, in order to implement this method in case of need. 344
