From our humble beginning on East 79th Street in Cleveland, Ohio moving the congregation to the grand cathedral on Buckeye Road and East Boulevard (now Martin Luther King Drive) and then to our current location on Alexander Road in Walton Hills, Ohio, The First Hungarian Reformed Church has the honor of being the First Reformed Church of Hungarian decent in Cleveland, Ohio and in America. Our church was built on the rock of the faith in Christ in our Protestant Reformed Heritage. We have been a significant presence in the Hungarian community of Cleveland, Ohio for 125 years. To commemorate our 125 years, a Special Worship Service and Anniversary Dinner will take place on Saturday, April 30,2016 at 2:00 p.m. at The First Hungarian Reformed Church. Rt.Rev.Dr. Csaba Krasznai New Year's Eve Party at the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Cleveland, Ohio Our church held a very successful New Year’s Eve Party on December 31 st. The dance music was provided by Harmonia and we had a successful raffle featuring a number of great prizes such as a flat screen television, tablet, and laptop. A wonderful dinner was served featuring Burgundy pork roast with mashed potatoes as well as beef paprikas with dumplings. Many delicious desserts were served including Dobos törte and pogácsa. After midnight, traditional bean and lentil soups were served with sausage. The children also participated in this great event by having a separate party within the church which included dancing, movies, and food. This event was an enjoyable, festive occasion, as well as a fund raiser for our church. We are thankful to God for those who organized and helped at this special event, preparing the very delicious dishes and those who made generous donation. Al Frate Vice Chief Elder
