REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA 3 WHERE JESUS WALKED Where Jesus walked, I’ve always longed to travel To the land of Palestine beyond the sea. How I’d love to walk the paths His footsteps followed, And go sailing on the Sea of Galilee. I would sit and ponder long upon the hillside, Where He fed the multitude, so tenderly. Oh, to climb with measured steps the Hill of Calvary, Where he suffered, bled, and died upon the tree. But today I walked beside my precious Saviour, Where the lovely flowers bloom upon the hill. It was there He fed my hungry soul with beauty, And taught me how to do His blessed will. On the troubled Sea of Life, He came to meet me, And I heard His words so clearly, “Peace be still.” There He stooped to help me lift my heavy burden, As my heart exulted with a joyous thrill. It may never be my joy to see the places, Where Christ walked and then to Heaven did ascend. It is enough for me that I remember His blessed words, “I’m with you to the end.” Goldie Ewing Wilson EASTER The Easter message contains a twofold truth. The first truth is the news itself: Christ has risen! Christ won His battle, He overpowered the greatest enemy, death, “He rose again from the dead” He lives, He is the Prince of life. No matter what was said by the soldiers guarding the tomb, no matter what the official bulletins of the high priests were, Christ arose■ He lives! This is true even today, no matter what is said by the unbelievers, by the doubters, or by the so called modern Christians! He lives. The second truth is that there is and there will be a resurrection because Christ arose. The resurrection is not only hope, or a possibility, but a reality. This is the reason we profess: “He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.’’ This means that those who will be living when He comes and those who have already passed away will be brought back to life for judgement. There is and there will be resurrection “and every eye will see Him, everyone who pierced Him.” (Rev. 1:7) You may postpone meeting Christ indefinitely upon the earth, just as it is done by many but the day will come when you must face Him, because you urill be brought back to life from the grave. Out of these two truths a logical question arises: how can the resurrection be a happy one for me? Jesus descended from above for me in human vesture, He called me, He proved His redeeming power to me, and He endeavored to convince me throughout my life that if I want to live eternally, I must follow Him. If 1 am in His care, He will lead me from this mortal life through death to resurrection and eternal life, for this was the reason for His coming. This is how Easter, the Easter message, the resurrection, and eternal life can become a blessing for you. A most blessed Easter to all. F. V. FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH The story of Colonel Michael Kováts de Fabricy on the twohundredth anniversary of his heroic death. On May 11, 1979 Hungarian Americans will commemorate the most outstanding Hungarian military achievement in the Revolutionary War. Twohundred years ago Michael Kováts de Fabricy sacrified his life for the liberty of the United States and the freedom of the American people. Colonel Kováts was one of the best trained and most experienced Hussar officers of Europe. He came to America when the colonists struggled for their independence. As “Master of Exercises’’ he rendered invaluable services to the cause of the colonists by properly training Washington’s first cavalry units. Later, he became the Colonel-Commandant of the famous Pulaski Legion and was killed in action leading the death-defying Hussar attack of the Legion in the defense of Charleston, South Carolina, a crucially important seaport at that time. In 1778 the British monarch, George III, got tired of the incompetence of General Howe, supreme commander of the British forces in America, and appointed
