Statistics from the Annual Statement Year Ended December 31, 2001 Society History The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America (HRFA) was organized July 5, 1896, in Trenton, N.J., and incorporated by an Act of Congress of the United States of America in the District of Columbia on March 1, 1907. In 1989, the St. George Greek Catholic Union, domiciled in New Jersey, merged into the Federation. The society’s goal is to serve the ethnic Hungarian community in the United States by offering products, services and programs appropriate for fellow Hungarians, as well as those Americans who share the same values regardless of their creed, color, sex or national origin. Membership is open to men and women between the ages of 0-80. Insurance and Financial Statistics for 2001 Life Insurance in Force $44,834,961 No. of Certificates in Force: 13,464 Premium Income 545,443 Total Assets 23,347,743 Surplus 8,447.906 Net Investment Income: 6.8% Community Outreach Programs The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America co-sponsors a summer church camp in cooperation with the Hungarian Reformed Churches in America that benefits both members and non-members. Members of HRFA local lodges held 2,790 events and devoted 13,085 hours of service to benefit their local communities in 2001. In addition, the society and its local lodges expanded the following amounts in 2001 to assist needy individuals or improve local communities where members reside: Community Service Disbursements Society Home Office $12,300.00 Local Branches 10,735.00 Total $23,035.00 38
