The Bethlen Home

congregations, for the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America and its leaders, and for all the supportive people around America and elsewhere in the world. Where we are aware that someone is going through difficult times, or uniquely happy times, we include these loved ones and friends in our prayers. We wish to encourage our readers with the knowledge that we remember you and that we thank God each day for you. Please contact the Bethlen Home with any prayer requests you would like to have included. The Chapel of the Bethlen Home is located on a hill affectionately known to us as “Mt. Moriah”. Mt. Moriah is a hill in Jerusalem on which David held an encounter with God. The great temple in Jerusalem was built on Mt. Moriah. Our Chapel stands in testimony to God’s presence here at the Bethlen Home. The level of care being given is inspired within the staff by God. We thank all who remember the Bethlen Home with their donations and their prayers. The bell rings each day for each of you! Bethlen Home Building Update Plans for the new Bethlen Home continue to progress through the schematic design phase. In addition, the financing component of the project is being assembled. By late spring, we hope to publish ways in which the Bethlen Home’s many supporters can take an active role in the construction of our new Home. Groundbreaking for the new Bethlen Home is scheduled for Labor Day week of 2000. We hope many will come on that day to take part in what promises to be a very moving and inspirational ceremony. Weather permitting, construction will begin in early Spring of 2001. Retirement Village News Thirteen year cottage residents, Joseph and Margaret Kolozi, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on February 8111. Residents Irma Majtenyi and Maria Toth take advantage of the reading opportunities offered by the large, Hungarian library collection. Residents are planning a trip to Pittsburgh to attend March 15th observances and the performance of the Concordia Choir from Slovakia. On March 15th, residents will participate in the Bethlen Home’s own March 15lh observance. Terez Kaszap rings the church bell each day. Beatrice 38
