90 BETHLEN NAPTÁR 1981 Faith United Church of Christ Confirmands 1980. The confirmation class received full instruction and made their confirmation on May 18th and received their first communion on Pentecost Sunday. A Bible was presented to each confirmand by the Ladies’ Aid Society. During the year some softness developed in the church school program owing to changes in leadership personnel. This was overcome and the church school was able to complete the year satisfactorily. We are grateful for everyone’s help in the crisis, especially to Mrs. Paul L. Pavelka, who acted as leader. At the same time, the Cradle Roll program was strengthened under the leadership of Mrs. Rose Ella Palfi. The 1980-81 church school year is now secure owing to the planning of Mrs. Helen K. Beretz, Mrs. Louise Pavelka, Mr. John Trimmel, and the consistory. The chancel choir under the direction of Mrs. Ruth Bancsi sang every Sunday, except during July and August. They presented a Palm Sunday Concert of Sacred Music and a Thanksgiving Service of Praise and worship. The Fenger High School Choraliers, an all black choir, also visited the congregation and presented a concert for the seventh consecutive year. The Ladies’ Aid Society sponsored a reception in their honor following the convert. The inflation caused a “cash-flow” problem during the year. This was partially overcome with the help of our church people and the Ladies’ Aid Society. During the summer a roof problem arose on the flat
