156 BETHLEN ALMANAC TORRINGTON, Connecticut It is only a mission station. We hold our services in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, whose pastor is a great admirer and friend of our Bishop and the Hungarian Reformed people of Trenton, New Jersey. STATEN ISLAND, New York Our Lord has blessed us with another successful year’s work in 1959. The English Service introduced three years ago continues to increase in attendance as the youth of our church loyally follow the faith of their parents. The rising number of our people taking communion is a joyful sight to behold. The strongest support during the year again was provided by the Women’s Guild. Every church activity receives the co-operation of each and everyone of its members. With the exception of a few dollars retained by the group as working fund, all monies raised by their efforts are immediately turned over to the church treasury. The current year’s officers are: President: Mrs. Alexander Szabó, Vice Pesidents; Mrs. Alexander Iski and Mrs. John Lovász, Sr., Treasurer: Mrs. Joseph O’Donnell, and Secretary: Mrs. Frederick Cutler. Staten Island Congregation. Our youth organization repeatedly demonstrates its value by the fine results achieved. This organization offers its members excellent opportunities to cultivate friendship and gain experience in the management of church affairs. It is the main source for the development of our future church leaders. The youth of our church are fortunate in that we are able to provide especially fine facilities through the availablity of a fine church hall for their meetings, games, dances and other social gatherings. The officers of this group are: President: Irma Torzsas, Vice President: Eleanor Szász, Secretary: Paula Monty, Treasurer Frank Kosa. The organization took an active part in the Eastern Classis Youth Conference.
