BETHLEN ALMANAC 157 The Sunday School program was conducted with the fine assistance of our many young teachers both male and female. Released time from school for Religious Instruction was held on Wednesday afternoons under the supervision of the Pastor and assistance of Mrs. Alexander Kosa and Mrs. Alexander Szabó. LINDEN, New Jersey In this small, but independent congregation the Reverend László Hunyady and his wife do a very adequate and self-sacrificing work. The debts of the congregation are reduced to $1,600 and a constituency of 40 souls owns property valued at $30,000. Church attendance is increasing. CLIFFSIDE-SHADYSIDE, New Jersey We quote from the report of the Dean: “On December 7th the grateful congregation donated a new robe (palast) to its young pastor. In April the services in English language were started on the first Sunday of the month. The Church has been rebuilt and redecorated. There are many signs of advance in this vigorous small congregation”. The Annual Meeting of the Eastern Classis was held in our Cliffside Church. The ladies and our elders contributed much of their time and work to the successful preparation of this important event. Marthas of the Cliffside-Shadyside Congregation. MIAMI, Florida In February 1959 this congregation unanimously decided to join the Hungarian Reformed Church in America. In the same month, the Right Rev. Bishop Zoltán Beky received the congregation and its pastor the Rev. Anthony Peter into our fellowship. The Reverend Peter resigned his charge and became pastor emeritus in May, the new pastor the Rev. John P. Nagy formerly of Detroit, Michigan was installed by the Dean Gabor Csordás into his office on June 28th. The work is continued along the same lines by the new pastor.
