WE’ll be so rich as the big man, Rockefeller, and mom will call me her “Big Boy". Just thing about it, eh!” “Oh mom, lookee, lookee, see theres pa, he’s just home from work and brought the check home too! See, looke, a great big check [ too! Come here mom, hurry and | meet dad. Oh, dad, we’re so glad j you came. Oh, boy, now you can buy all of us lotta new clothes, eh! dad?” Mama come here, look, look at dady’s pockets they’re all filled with money. Oh, lookee outside, he brought a dandy car home too. Gee, daddy, you are a* swell papa.” Tommy’s mother came to him at a rapid pace. She was white and frightened and called to the ■ boy. “Tommy! Tommy! What’s wrong with you, stop talking like that.” She put her hand on her^son’s feverish head, feeling the heat and seeing the boy’s red flushed face, wished she had some money to call the doctor. So she got a blanket and warmed his feet and kept his head cooled. The mother sat at his bedside and wached her son. She was ill too. Soon she began to sneeze and cough, then the sneezing and coughing began to choke her, and before you knew it the boy before her died with a great deal of pain and the mother passed away with very much suffering before dawn. Dawn was coming when the neighbors from all drections came to the flat where Tommy lived, for they heard crying of a child, a heavy crying.‘ The neighbors opened the door and the scene was frightful. The mother lying on her back on the floor dead. The boy on the bench dead, and a small girl on the floor, crying and crying for some one to come at her assistance. The neighbors called the doctor and he said the boy died of “Black diphtheria." The Healt Department took the body of the mother and son, and buried them, and put the little girl in the orphanage. And last of all the landlord put up the sign, "For Rent”. (The End.) IWW NOT POLITICAL ORGANIZATION FELLŐV/ JUNIORS! Just a few lines to let you know that the Juniors are alive in Cleveland. I’m going to tell you fellow workers and juniors how interested I was at the IWW meeting last Wednesday Oct. 29. The subject for the evening was Politics. Several fellow workers got up and expressed their opinion about Politics. One of the fellow workers got up and asked this question:. “Is the IWW a political organization?‘‘ !?3evera persons answered this question. I thought that I should give my opinion in the J. W. C. A popular misconception that has been planted and is being fostered by the capitalist class is that the IWW aspires to be a great revplutiortary political organization, wich aims to overthrow existing governments and set up abureaucratic tyranny of its own. This is one of the greatest untruths spread and believed about the IWW. The IWW is not a political organization. It has no poli- j tical aspirations or aims. What is I known i about politics and poli- ticions has taught it!to avoid botlf like the plague. The fiVW does not direct its activities against the government at all. All of its at- tention is centered upon the jobs j and the wage relationship. The J IWW is neither a political or an antipolitical organization. It is an economic organization. Helen Lckner. COMMENT Isabelle Bulik’s story "The s r Little News Boy” is one of tragedy. I n the story Tommy and his j mother die because they could n^t pay for a doctors aid. This has happened in real life, too. Would we but live in a profitless system young children would not be sent out on the streets in all kinds of weather to sell the capitalists sheet in order to add to the family budget.- Not only are the working class children selling Capitalist newspapers but they are working in the industries to produce profit for them, in return for a mere pittance. We are resolved to abolish the cause which enslaves all working class children — the profit system. Választási tömeggyülés tömeg nélkül Soßen den Itt is megtörtént a nagy választási tömeggyülés, melyre a New Yorkból szélnek eresztett Mayer Gusztáv lett volna az előadó, aki a választási platform ismertetése helyett az IWW chicagói szólásszabadsági gyűléséről mondott olyan hazugságokat, mely még a választási bluffokat is felülmúlta. — Persze ez a tökfej arra nem is gondolt, hogy voltak ott bent Chicagóban a gyűlésen south ben- diek is, akik saját szemeikkel látták, hogy mi történt ottan és hogyan vették át az álkommunisták a magyar repülő fascisták hivatását és hogyan repültek kifelé a teremből. Az a néhány hallgató, aki jelen volt a gyűlésen, nagyokat nyelt, amikor Guszti hazudó- zott és látni lehetett, hogy amikor mondott valamit, utána szinte ő maga is szédülgözött. Beszédjéből kitűnt, hgy tulajdonképpen az egész útja csak azért volt, hogy a chicagói gyűlést zavaró csőcseléknek méltó vezére legyen. Amikor megkérdezték tőle, hogy nekik miért volt szabad Károlyit kihasználni és mennyiben volt forradalmi akció, egy kapitalista vállalat profit vállalkozását elősegíteni a Károlyi gyűlésekkel, akkor arra válaszolni nem tudott És hogy mikor fognak elszámolni a Károlyi gyűléseken gyűjtött pénzekkel, hát ez már közönséges ellenforradalmi akció, melynek csak az IWW tagjai ülnek fel és ellenforradalmárok lesznek, — amikor elszámolást kérnek. A So. Bendi munkások már régen ismerik ezt a szegény pártlegényt és nagyon örülnek annak, hogy innét New Yorkba ment, olyan nagy városban még sem rontja annyira a levegőt. ~ Tudósító.
