6 Machine construction : functional and structural design and construction of machines and devices. Production systems : properties of man-machine systems/control and organization of production processes. Chemical and food engineering : investigation and planning of processes in chemical and food machinery and eguipment, their construction and development. Mathematician-engineering : special mathematical knowledge, engineering, computation, modelling problems. The studies last five years. They are concluded by a dissertation and state examination in the three subjects concerned. Students who meet specified requirements are granted a degree in mechanical engineering indicating the specialization. Faculty of Architecture The wide-range programme of architectural education is intended to impart humane erudition, professional and engineering knowledge. Applicants need generál culture, creativity, sense for problems of developing humán environment, and drawing ability. Fundamental subjects comprise: mathematics, computation, physics, chemistry, graphics, building materials, building constructions, building technologies, structural design, architectural design, and theory of régiónál planning. The Faculty has a well-equipped laboratory. Architectural education involves drawing room work, obligatory and optional subjects. Years 4 and 5 are focussed on a wide rangé of complex design depending on the personal interests of teachers and students.
