- 5 Road and railway construction : planning and designing of roads, motorways, airports, úrban traffic networks, railway construction and updating. Hydraulic engineering : hydraulics, hydrology, hydraulic engineering, flood protection, water supply, waist water treatment and canalization, agricultural water management and environment engineering . Geodesy : surveying and mapping for industry, transports, agriculture and defence. The studies last five years. They are concluded by a dissertation and state examination in the three subjects concerned. Students who meet specified requirements are granted a degree in civilengineering in one of the above-mentioned specialzations. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Mechanical engineering education aims at imparting theoretical and practical knowledge for the design of machines and equipment, planning and control of production processes, as well as operation and maintenance of machinery. In the first three years, high-level theoretical fundamentals of mathematics, physics, mechanics, structural materials, machine parts, computer technique, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics are taught. Thereafter one of the six specializations may be opted for. Specialization topics are: Production engineering : up-to-date, economical methods of production and assembly of parts and half-products, development of production technology. Process planning : planning and examination of thermal and flow processes in machines and equipment.
