Szilveszter TERDIK: “Athonite” Miniature Carvings at the Museum of Applied Arts

Diameter: 7.1 cm, thickness: 0.5 cm. One element shows the Platytera, with the external side decorated with leaves, surrounding a composition of “Mother Do Not Weep Over Me”. The other element depicts only the Old Testament Trinity, with the Hetoimasia on the exterior. The inscription around the scene matches that on the exemplar in Budapest.
