1900 - A Great Experiment of Modernism in the Applied Arts', which opened in 1996 and which presented material of unique richness from many different genres. It was with this exhibition that the Museum celebrated the centenary of its inauguration; to this very day, it counts in Hungarian museum life as a standard and as an achievement difficult to equal. Over the last three decades and more, generations of art historians, would-be applied artists continuing their studies, and restorers have acquired their basic knowledge from the books and studies written by Emőke László. And they have extended and deepened this knowledge during their consultations with her, and from time to time during talks clarifying and illuminating important issues in the field.
