New acquisitions

The pattern of the silk-thread embroidery, which is executed in green, blue, orange, beige, and uncoloured thread, covers the entire surface of the linen ground. It consists of stylised flowers arranged in diagonal bands. This piece was originally one of a pair of embroideries that embellished a pair of women's trousers. The present artefact was later edged with fan-pattern pillow lace made from metallic thread and used as a cover.
