Furuta. Inv.no.: 90.7.1. 16. Monkey Holding a Horse by the Halter (netsuke) Ivory. Japan, early 19th century. Signed: Okakoto. Height: 3 cm. The figures are modelled in dynamic and realistic manner. Okakoto belonged to the Kyoto school of netsuke carvers, and was a pupil of Okatomo, one of the best masters. Purchased from Mrs. Ferenc Zwolenszky. Inv.no.: 90.1.1. 17. Oniwaka Killing the Giant Carp (netsuke) Ivory. Japan, first half of the 19th century. Signed: Tomochika. Height: 2.4 cm. The carving shows the 12th century hero of many legends: Bcnkei, as a boy, vanquishing a huge carp. Purchased from Mrs. Ferenc Zwolenszky. Inv.no.: 90.2.1. 18. Tigress with Two Cubs (netsuke) Ivory, mother of pearl. Japan, first half of the 19th century. Signed: Hakuryu. Height: 3.1 an. The tiger group is represented in grotesque manner using lightly stained ivory; the eyes are inlaid in mother of pearl. Hakuryu belonged to the Kyoto school of netsuke carvers, his favorite subject was the portrayal of tigers. Purchased from Lidia Boda. Inv.no.: 90.3.1. 19. Lamaist Scroll Painting with Black Priming (nag-than) Canvas with colours. Mongolia, 19th-20th century. Size: 33 x 25 cm. The deity Rdo-rje legs-pa in Tantric form rides a snowlion and is accompanied by four deities in the upper part of the picture and by three deities in the lower one. Six lines of Tibetan consecratory text written in red are to be found on the reverse side of the painting. Gift from György Kara. Inv.no.: 90.9.1. 21. Lamaist Monk (Vertical Scroll) Block-print on silk. Mongolia, 19th-20th century. Size: 32 x 25 cm. This asymmetrical composition shows a holy monk in the company of the dhyanibuddha Amilayus and dharmapala Mahakala surrounded by different symbols. Lower: Tibetan text with blessings. Purchased from Kálmán Bagi. Inv.no.: 90.20.1. 22. Five Great Kings (Small Votive Picture, s.c. cak-li) Canvas with colours. Mongolia, first half of the 20th century. Size: 12 x 8 cm. With the figure of Rdo-rje legs-pa riding a white lion in the middle, and Padmasambhava in the upper part of the picture.
