Inside there is a small wax figure of Christ as a child, placed on a red cloth. Presented by the Del Medico family, USA. Inv. No. 88.83 15. Tobacco-box, silver, with faience lid Meissen (?), end of the 18th century L. 6.6 cm, h. 3.5 cm, b. 5.5 cm This has a heart-shaped opening lid with two female figures with flower-basket set in blue and white scenery. Ornamental cup, silver, gilded inside London, 1860 H. 42.6 cm, d. of b. 16.3 cm Strongly-shaped cup fashioned in Neo­Renaissance style, with lid presenting the figure of Bacchus in relief. Marks on the rim of the lid and on the brim of the cup. On one of the embrosed patterns is the engraved inscription : "Damenpreis (Frankfurt Im) August 1871." Bequeathed by Mrs. János Keppinger Inv. Ornamental blackcock, silver Nuremberg, between 1769-1773 L. 63 cm, h. 35.8 cm This presents a large and faithful image of a blackcock, with a removable head, sup­plied with engraved patterns. Hallmarked on the neck part. Bequeathed by Mrs. János Keppinger. Inv. No. 88.130 18. Tureen, silver Gregory Hueber, Vienna, 1791 H. 48 cm, b. 57 cm It consists of four distinct parts : base, dish, dish warmer and lid. It has an oval base with protruding middle part, adorned with applied and engraved ornaments. The dish stands on four faun-like feet and has two square handles. On its side is a frieze (which was put on later) presenting masks, cherubs, animal figures, and trailing fruit. On the lid there is a bunch of flowers in relief emerging from among the leaves. The object was one of the pieces offered in the auction of the Ernst Museum in 1931 (Cat. XLVI Bp. 1931, No. 932 and XL t). Ac­cording to tradition it belonged to a set owned by Palatine Joseph, of which other pieces include three candlesticks, one dish with a lid, two dish warmers and one food cover. Column-shaped ornamental clock, wood, alabaster, mother-of-pearl Hungarian, 1st half of the 19th century, mechanism by Jacob Pachner, Arad H. 67 cm, 1. 14.2 cm, b. 38 cm The case is carved from wood, painted black, and gilded. The ornaments are ala­baster and mother-of-pearl. The base, which is embellished with plain horizontal and perpendicular grooves, supports two alabaster columns bolstering the tym­panum section, which is similar to the base in design. The lower part of this holds the mechanism of the clock. On each of the two sides is an urn-shaped alabaster ornament ; in the middle field of the tympanum are two friezes made of mother-of-pearl and placed one above the other. In the upper field is the gilded image of an eagle spread­ing its wings. Behind the pendulum, which bears the head of Apollo, there is gilded ornamentation depicting a lyre made up of leaf motifs. The mechanism, equipped with lever-escapement, strikes every quar­ter of an hour. On its white enamelled face
