Nut-cracker set, chromium-plated ste­el Austrian (?), c. 1900 L. 12.7 cm The two straight arms of the nut-cracker are joined to the upper centre plate by a revolving axis. In order to hold the nut, the straight arms at the upper end are notched inside, the handles are supplied with spiral ribbon-like decoration divided by strings of pearls. At the end there are acorn-shaped knobs. The handles of the instruments for removing walnuts from their shells are si­milar to those of the nutcracker proper, but are narrower. The head of each such ins­trument is plain with a middle part gently widening and with a head with claws. Un­marked. Purchased from the BÁV com­pany. Inv. No. 87.102 7.
