bossed water-drops in ones and fours, three embossed angel-heads. On the rim is the engraved inscription: "Czináltatta eszt az pohárt 1632 Miczkei Bálás." (Bálás Miczkei had this beaker made in 1632). Kőszeghy mentions two more analogous objects made by the same master (No. 575), but he could not decode the mark either. The object was formerly in the possession of Baron Béla Radvánszky. It was last displayed in 1907 (Amateur Collectors' Catalogue p. 35, item 60). Purchased from Dr. István Lükő (Sopron). Inv. Beaker with base, silver, gilt in parts By Jeremias Jekel, Brasso, c. 1640 H. 21 cm, d. of b. 7.2 cm Cylindrical body widening upwards in an arch, with its bottom fixed high on a base through soldering. It is decorated on the foot with flower bunches and conch-like motifs partly engraved, partly stamped on. Beneath the rim three angel-heads are set against a background of drapes. Kőszeghy mentions another beaker by the same master (No. 193) with lambrequin ornaments in a slightly smaller size (h. 19.2), which is currently in the possession of the Hungarian National Museum. Both objects come from Baron Béla Radvánszky's collection. Purchased from Dr. István Lükő (Sopron). Inv. No. 88.39 9. Souvenir cup, tin Hungarian (?), c. 1896 H. 9.4 cm, d. of b. 6.1 cm Between the foot and the brim in chartouches with flowers and tendrils set in a convex frame are views of Budapest from the time of the Millennium. One of the pictures is inscribed: "BUDAPESTI EMLÉK 896-1896." (Souvenir from Budapest, 896-1896). Unmarked. Purchased from Mrs. László Walkó (Budapest). Inv. No. 88.50 10. Spice-box, yellow brass with traces of silver plating, inlaid with glass identified as original, Austrian, c. 1900 L. 9.5 cm, h. 8.4 cm The middle part, shaped like a decayed tree-trunk, is extended with a handle adorned with leaves and buds. On the longer side is fastened a holder containing two trays lined with glass, each of which is supplied with a little spoon. The decoration is engraved on in geometric patterns. Unmarked. Inkwell, brass French, between 1900 and 1905 L. 34 cm, h. 3 cm This consists of two kidney-shaped inkwells with opening lids decorated with embossed floral motifs. Signed "S". The Guerardeau factory mark is shown : Susse Fr. Ef. Gaus, and the round emblem of the same factory. Purchased from Mrs. István Bojtos (Budapest). Inv. No. 88.52 12. Jug, silver Gorham firm, USA, c. 1870-80 L. 22.5 cm, d. of b. 7.5 cm The neck, set with strings of beads, joins the round plain base to the body, the surface of which is supplied with checked motifs stamped on and engraved. On this there are dragon-fly and leaf patterns. On its lip, whose brim bends upwards, it bears an inscribed monogram. The handle has stamped on and engraved decoration.
