one male and possibly a young boy relegable to the mixed Europo-Mongoloid, or more exactly to the Turanoid, subrace. Within the Europoid great race , the proportion of the brachycranial and dolichocranial elements is nearly equal, while the mesocranial elements are almost wholly absent from the material. The population is further characterizable by the strong mixture of the various type elements in the individuals, thus no per cent value of the taxonomic distribution can be given. As indicated already by the earlier metric and morphological investigations, the taxonomic composition of the males is especially mixed. With its cranial index 91 and Turanoid taxonomic character, the male of Grave 24 totally differs from the other adult males. Of the Europoid brachycranial s , male No. 14 shows a Pamirian character, while males No. 12 and No. 17 display a mixture of the brachycranial and dolichocranial type elements. On the dolichocranial males, especially Protomediterranean and Mediterranean elements can be observed. Male No. 19 is noteworthy owing to its definitely prehistoric skull form, characterized by a cranial index 68, and a very narrow, steeply receding forehead. The nasal bones of male No. 16 are impressed, and its Protomediterranean character emphasized by a strong alveolar prognathism. The brachycranial group of the females contains more Pamirian elements; such are No. I and partly the adult No. 25, and possibly the young girl No. 10. In the other brachycranial individuals, and similarly to the situation in the males, a mixture with the dolichocranial taxonomic elements is observable. The dolichocranial female group is more uniform, their majority being composed of various Mediterranean elements, as indicated also by the presence of the alveolar prognathism.
