Pathological changes, trephinations The occurrence of pathologic changes, observable by the naked eye, is rather high and diverse in the series. They are as follows. Status post fracturam can be observed on the clavicular bone of two males (Graves 12, 16). Degenerative changes appeared in a moderate rate on the skeletons of three males older than 50 years (Graves 14, 16, 24); the cases represent spondylosis and arthrosis deformans. Inflammatory processes. The right parietal bone of the child No. 21 was perforated from the endocranial surface near the bregma, with the appearance of an asymmetrical, incipient osteoporosis on its left parietal and occipital bones. Developmental anomalies. The processus styloideus failed to develop on the left ulna of male No. 12. According to I. Lengyel* s chemical analysis, an ossificatory anomaly could be observed in this male. The left hip joint of the mature female No. 2 was strongly deformed, presumably owing to a luxatio coxae. The left leg of the deceased, lying stretched out on its back in the grave, was slightly drawn up at the knee and also bent inwards; its gait must have been considerably limping. Male No. 24 shows a spina bifida. Sacralization is observable on male No. 16. The child No. 23 shows cribra orbit alia. Dentition, The occurrence of caries, as related to all teeth present, is 6,1 per cent in the males and 7.3 in the females. No milktooth caries could be observed. Teeth lost during life occurred in 15.7 per cent in the males and in 19.9 per cent in the females. Cyst a mandibularis et maxillaris occurred in t-wo males (28.5 %) and in three females (33.3 %).
