A megfejtők között sorsot huzunk és a nyertes egy jutalom könyvet fog kapni. AZ IFJÚSÁG KÖRÉBŐL. C. E. Topic for June 5. “HOW SHOULD WE PRAY?” Scripture; Mt. 6; 9—15. Last week we discussed the question, “Why should we pray?” Following this, it is natural to ask, “How should we pray?” — The disciples of Jesus wanted to be taught how to pray and Jesus gave them a model prayer. Christians have been using this prayer ever since, because it is so compact, so brief and still it contains all the elements that every prayer should have. Through the centuries Christians have not only used this prayer, but we might almost say, abused it, or at least over used it. Prayer, to be a prayer must come from the innermost part of the heart, but very many Christians in using the Lord’s Prayer do not really pray when they repeat those words. This danger is present in all ‘learned’ prayers. Continual repetition of the same words tend to subvert the meaning of the player and in time the words become but empty form. Therefore, we should guard against this danger in our praying. This does not mean that we are never to use form prayers. They may be of great help in giving us the proper form of our own prayers. Even in using ‘learned’ prayers we may make them our own by following closely the thoughts and not only the words. Most of our praying, however, should be spontaneous. We should speak to God, our Heavenly Father freely, even though we are not able to select the choicest words for our thoughts. It is realized that Hung. Ref Y. P. as a whole have not had much training in this important endeavor. Most of our elders, when they prayed used a prayer book and looked up the prayer that suited the occasion. That was very fine, but we ought to advance beyond this method and learn to pray in our own words. It is really not hard once you get started. Young People! Learn to pray! The Spirit of God will teach you “How”. 1. Make a study of the Lord’s Prayer. Note the petitions referring to God and those referring to man. 2. What other great prayers are there in the Bible? Rev. You may have read in the last week’s issue of this paper a short announcement concerning the big camp conference of our Young People to be held on July 2, 3 and 4 in Ligonier, Pa. The Executive Committee of the American Hungarian Reformed Federation at its meeting at Pittsburgh, Pa., on May 17, resolved to arrange this conference for our young people. The above named Federation was established almost forty years ago. The society is primarily an institution for life-insurance, yet it also Nyíri Sanyi, Leechburg, Pa. De én is tudok küldeni nekik olyat, hogy ők is törhetik a fejüket. Ha ők ilyen nehezet adtak nekem, szeretném tudni, hogy ők meg tudják-é fejteni, amit én küldök.” A rejtvényed igazán nehéz.
