Association Old-Timer Dies It grieves us when we are informed of the death of one of our fraternal old-timers. Daniel Jordan, veteran branch officer and longtime member, died May 26, 1965 in New York City, where he was a member of Branch 48. He was born September 23, 1885 in Gönc (Göncz), County of Abauj-Torna, Hungary. The deceased was laid out at the Eastmore Funeral Home. Services were held at the First Hungarian Reformed Church, 344 E. 69th St., New York, and the Rev. Imre Kovács officiated. Burial was at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, Westchester Hill, N. Y. Surviving Mr. Jordan are his wife Esther, sons Daniel, Jr., John, Bill and Steve, and daughters Helen, Esther, Julia, Irene, Christine and Margaret, including 17 grandchildren. The membership of Daniel Jordan in our Association goes back more than fifty years, having joined on May 26, 1912. He managed former Branch 334, Roda, Va., which itself was formerly Branch 18 of Stonega, Va., from July 4, 1923 until its dissolution September 1, 1954. His fraternal, social and other activities among the Hungarian Americans were noteworthy. We express our sympathies to the Jordan family.
