PAGE 5 William Penn Branch High Lights (Continued from page 3) members of our Association since 1921, the year they came to America, and who with their chi'dren and grandchildren are all members of Branch 24 in Chicago. The Runs had seven children, there now being four sons and two daughters, and there are fourteen grandchildren. Our congratulatins and best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Kun, Sr. Oy TOLEDO, * Ohio Beginning with September, the monthly meetings of Branch 27 will be he'd at the district office, and the September meeting itself will be held on Sunday the 13th, at 3 p. m. The following meetings will be held as usual on the first Sunday of the month. — MARY IVANCSO Secretary In football it is “1st down and ten” — August is here and in one month — back to school we go! Yes, the road markers and cross walks are getting their coats of fresh paint and the store windows are displaying all back-to-school clothes. If you haven’t had a short vacation — go out and get one even if it is just a weekend — you’ll feel better. Here are some of Branch 27 Vacationers — John Jacobs and family motored to Bridgeport to visit relatives and friends. From there they went to visit the World’s Fair. Mike Feyes and daughter came in from Seattle, Washington to visit his Dad and the other members of the family. Jackie Alex and her two sons went to Virginia, and after 20 years, Jackie was in for a lot of surprises — places sure change! John Falsa and family are escaping the heat wave here in Toledo by journeying to New Orleans. It must be coal down south. Bob and Ida Kovach went to hit the cool waters of Canada, Northern New York, Nova Scotia — a wonderful trip and a lot of fun. Kenny Fielder arrived home from the Air Force looking great. Kenny, while home for a couple of weeks, will probably test his bowling arm and see if he can show his father Gene a few tricks that he learned while in the Air Force. Joe Vanko and the Szavuly brothers are mighty happy men these days. Mothers of both of the men arrived from Hungary to spend the summer with their sons. These fine ladies are just marveling at the beauty of this part of the country. It was a happy reunion for Mrs. Edward Ujvagi and her brother, whom she hasn’t seen since 1956. Birthdays sometimes come and go — but at the Louis Dul’s in Rossford it was a very special occasion. Mr. Dul reached his 70th birthday and to add to the celebration, we delivered his matured endowment check from the William Penn Fraternal Association. It was a day to be remembered and we were certainly happy to be a part of it. The Bochi sisters — Betty and Gizella headed up to cool Montreal, Canada and visited the French quarters. Sick list at Branch 27 — Julius Kerekes, former Branch Manager, Frank Ivancso, Jr., Mrs. Paul Lajti, Michael Gregus. Wishing all a speedy recovery. New arrivals — Mr. and Mrs. Josep Siney, by; Mr. and Mrs. William Verbosky, girl; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kovach, son; Dick is former president of the William Penn mixed league and is mighty proud of son Todd Simon. Just got word that Nora and Dick with their two children just moved into their new home. Congratulations and best wishes. Those people who have loans, the interest and loan can be paid at any time. Interest should be paid as soon as possible so that compound interest is not on your next notice card. Until next time — STEPHEN J.
