Fraternally yours, John WIELAND District Manager Branch 443-V, DETROIT, Michigan Branch 443-V, Detroit, Michigan holds its last meeting of the year as well as the election of its officers for 1958 Sunday, December 8, 1957 at 2:00 P. M. SHARP in the assembly room No. 12 of the former Verhovay Building at 8005 West Jefferson Street. Every member of t he Branch should attend the meeting at the said date and address, since there arc fjuestions of great importance to be discussed. The new officers Drafted at Passaic, N. J. on October 20, 1957, at the joint meeting of Branches 51-R and 87-V in order to discuss a merger. The meeting was attended by the members of the joint Committee: Louis Szenegeto, President, Mrs. Joseph Kerstner, Treasurer, Michael Kocsis, controller from Branch 51-R, as well as Ladislaus Miko, President, Coloman Toth, recording secretary, Joseph Bokor, controller from Branch 87-V and all the members present. The meeting started at 2:00 P. M. sharp. Both the President of Branch 51-R and the President of Branch 87-V warmly welcomed those in attendance and requested the members to listen with attention to the items deliberated by the Committee and entered into the Minutes as they wiil be read by the recording secretary of the Committee, and to give their opinions with due composure and fraternal understanding. The recording secretary is requested to read each and every item of the Minutes as deliberated by' the Committee. The recording secretary read the following Minutes: ‘MINUTES Drafted at Passaic on August 24, 1957, at the joint meeting of the Committee of William Penn Branches 51-R *nd 87-V. Louis Szenegeto, President, Mrs. Joseph Kerstner. Treasurer, Michael Kocsis, controller from Branch 51-R, and Ladislaus Miko, President, Coloman Toth, Recording Secretary, Joseph Bokor, controller, from Branch 87-V were present. The task of this Committee is the merger of the two branches. It has to deliberate the resolutions and to submit them to the members of the two afore-said branches at a joint meeting. The Committee has set October 20, 1957 as date of the joint meeting. The Committee adopted' the following items concerning the merger cf the two branches. 1. Since there are two branches with number 87 in the William Penn Fraternal Association and this fact may create all kinds of difficulties, the Committee recommends to the members to adopt No. 51 as the number of the merged branches. 2. The Committee further recommends to use the premises at 104 President Street as assembly hall for the merged branches. 3. The Committee recommends that the merger should become effective only January 1, 1958, to enable the officers to transmit all the books and other objects as the property of the merged branches to the new Branch 51, after having closed the books at that time. 4. The Committee asks the meeting to adopt the following resolution: Should the merger take place, for the year 1958 are also to be elected. It would be desirable furthermore that all the members should pay their monthly dutes in order to prevent the accumulation of arrears by the end of the year. We call the attention of our members furthermore. to pay ,at least the interests falling due if they are unable to pay their loan. They benefit themselves and their beloved, if they settle the said loans. Fraternally yours, Elvira László, President Joseph Szabó, District Manager, and Manager of Branch 443-V it should be valid only by the 1st of January, 1958. The officers of the new branch should be elected for 1958, but their inauguration would take place only on the 1st of January, 1958. Having adopted- all Hhese items unanimously, with the greatest understanding and fraternal feeling, the meeting was closed at 10:00 P. M. Coloman Toth, Recording Secretary of the Joint Committee” Louis Szenegeto, President of Branch 51 requests the members to comment on the Minutes and plans. John Géczy suggests and requests to accept the merger and the items elaborated by the Committee. John Zakopcsan seconds the motion. Louis Szenegeto takes the votes of the members. The members adopts the merger and the above enumerated items unanimously. The vote was followed by the election of the officers for 1958. Andrew Rinko asks the members to re-elect all the former pfficers. Ladislaus Miko requests to be relieved from his office. The meeting elected the following officers for the year 1958: Louis SZENEGETO, President, Alexander Lakatos, Vice President, Mrs. Joseph Kerstner, Treasurer, Coloman Toth, Recording Secretary and controller, Michael Kocsis and Joseph Bokor Auditors. Since no more business was discussed, Louis Szenegto, President, expressed his gratitude in warm words for the confidence and fraternal understanding of the members and closed the meeting. Dated on the 20th October, 1957 Coloman Toth Recording Secretary We congratulate the members of the two great Passaic branches for their fraternal feeling in voting unanimously for the merger of the two' Passaic Branches No. 51-R and 87-V, which will operate, effective January 1, 1958, under number 51-R. We believe and hope that our new Passaic branch will rapidly increase with united efforts and mutual understanding and its social activity will be more extended. We call the attention of the members of Branch 87-V and 51-R that they may pay their monthly dues at 104 President Street on the second Sunday of the month according the following time schedule: January — 1:00 P.M. — 4:00 P.
