PAGE 12 William Penn November" 20, 1957. Presentation of the Illustrious Citations ALLIANCE SPEAKS BRANCH 189-V ' ALLIANCE, OHIO Family and frienc« gathered at the home of JOHN MOLNÁR Seanor, Pa. on Sunday afternoon October 6, 1957 at 1:00 P. M. where they witnessed the presentation of the Illustrious Citation. Mr. Louis VIZI, National Director from Scalp Level, Pa. presented the Illustrious Citation to John MOLNÁR, Member of Branch 115-R, Seanor, Pa. Mr. Vizi praised Mr. Molnár for the contributions that he made over the many years of Service he rendered in behalf of the William Penn Fraternal Association as Branch Manager. He presented Mr. Molnár with a framed citation and a gold diamonch-studded pin \vhich he pinned on Mr. Molnar’s lapel. Mr. Molnár thanked the Officers and members of this great Hungarian Association for the support they gave him during his position he held and hoped that the organization will keep on moving with the younger elements and that more of those old timers would step aside to the younger element which we all know is needed for the growth and progress as well as promotion of the fraternal activities of the organization. Mr. Joseph Miller, Jr., Branch With college football going down the home stretch and Thanksgiving breathing down our necks — Christmas is really just around the corner! Here in Toledo, Branch 27’s women under the capable chairmanship of Aggie Mokri, wife of our treasurer, are planning a gala Christmas party for the children who are members of Branch 27-V. All of the children of Branch 27-V shall receive a nice gift and goodies — and Santa will be there in person to . distribute the gifts. About 150 children are planning to attend (the party. The Christmas Party will be held on December 8 — starting about 4:00 P. M. — after our regular monthly meeting. This meeting is very important — collection of dues will start promptly at 2:00 P. M., after which the election of officers shall be held. — Then — the Christmas Party. Please come early, so that we have plenty of time for the election of all officers. Ernie (Pudgy) Belegrin is back from a rest and sunbathing in Phoenix, Arizona. As we all expected, Ernie, after all this rest was going to set the bowling world on fire — and he really did! The first night of the William Penn Mixed League he had to strike and spare to break 100 — the score was really 98 —■ bis excuse was his hands were a little tanned and slippery from the good Arizona desert sand and sunshine. The following night in the same League — Ernie really hit the jackpot — Frank Koval, please note — First game, he hit a big 98 total and his three game total was a rousing 384 — his excuse this time: “over-strained fingers the first time out bowling — therefore, fingers too big for the 'bowling ball.” Advice to this All Star Bowler: Go tell Santa to bring a new ball with bigger finger holes. If this doesn’t help, then Hie last advice from this writer is “Drop ball off the Craig Memorial Bridge.” Others did it and are much happier now. Congratulations to Junior Powell 59-V Manager from Scalp Level, Pa. extended his personal greetings and best wishes to Mr. Molnár and Officers of Branch 115-R. Family and friends gathered at the home of Mr. PETER SUPRAK, Vintondale, Pa. on Wednesday afternoon October 16, 1957 at 2:00 P. M. where they witnessed the presentation of the Illustrious Citation. Mr. Louis VIZI, National Director from Scalp Level, Pa. presented the Illustrious Citation to Mr. Peter SUPRAK, member of Branch 61-V, Vintondale, Pa. Mr. Vizi praised Mr. Suprak for the contributions that he made over the many years of service he rendered and reminded one and all that this award was the highest award that can be bestowed by the Board of Directors of the William Penn' Fraternal Association. He presented Mr. Suprak with a framed citation and a gold diamondstudded pin which he pinned on Mr. Suprak’« lapel. Mr. Suprak was filled with emotion as he expressed his thanks for the honor received. Mr. Joseph Miller, Jr., Branch 59-V Manager from Scalp Level, Pa. extended his personal greetings and best wishes to Mr. Suprak and Officers of Branch 61-V. on capturing the National Eliminations City Championship here in Toledo. Now Junior goes up against the best of the country, and we are sure he will make a good showing. Wishing him good luck to win all the way. The bowling scores have taken a slight dip since the start of the season. Ace Nagy continues to set !a good pace. Bill Smith is around the 200 average while Rip Tinta isf coming along fine now — Jula Feyes has a few 600’s to his Credit. The William Penn Mixed League has produced quite a few good and odd hits. Yolanda Krolak takes first place in the odd hitting category. After getting the number 10 pin with her first ball, and receivingvaluable advice from hubby Bill, she proceeded by getting the number 7 pin with the second ball — truthfully, from one extreme to another. Dr. Alex Balent, our former Dayton member, is doing all right for his team, which is named the “Sputniks”. Each team has a name instead of number for easier identification, so here they are. The “Alley Cats” are in first place — having Julie Hager on the team — shooting 203 really gave us a push — The “Pujas” are second — The “Push-Ups” third — “Sputniks” are fourth — The “7-11” are fifth and the “4 Aces” are in last place. Nice of Betty Bochi and Rose Bodnar coming down during the bowlinggames and boosting our morale. Before I forget: Our apologies to Mr. and Mrs. Jula Vargo for forgetting to mention that they were at our annual lake outing. Golly, Julia and you were in the card game, too! Or, were you?” Condolences to the Joseph Kepes family on the passing of Mr. Joseph Kepes, their father. Again, I want to remind each and every one of the December 8th- Officers election and Christmas Party. Please have the children that are members attend — they'll have a wonderful time. Hello again from Alliance’s own Branch 189-V! We are looking forward to seeing all of you this Thanksgiving Eve. I hope that by now everyone has his ticket for the dinner dance! All the directors, headed by President John Barany, have been working so hard on this affair and they are certainly to be congratulated for getting Lou Sikora and his Society Notes to play for the dance. Even if you don’t dance, you will love the music he makes so come on out anyway. Mrs. Tosha is going to cook her superb Swiss Steak for the dinner and everyone should plan to come and spend a wonderful evening in the congenial atmosphere of our Club. If you haven’t already bought your ticket, you can do so by contacting Michael Simo or George Toth, our Steward. Tickets for the dinner and dance both are only $2.50 per person. Where else can you get a deal like this for only $2.50? Fabulous food plus that dreamy Lou Sikora — Bi-other, that’s for me! And you too, I hope. Louis Elteto, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Elteto, Sr. of 605 North Lincoln, is attending Fenn College in Cleveland where he is studying to be a mechanical engineer. Louis is a brilliant young man and one we are all proud of. His parents came to the United States eight years ago with the first group of refugees who fled their country and the family has lived in Alliance five years now. Louis served as interpreter for the many refugee families that settled in Alliance last year. During his Senior year at Alliance High School (he graduated in June 1956) he took the general scholarship tests given to above average students and his grade was the highest in Stark County. Louis attends Fenn College for three months and then works at the Morgan • Engineering Co. for three months. Such ambition will be very rewarding and we wish him the best of everything! Keep up the good work, Louis! Mr. Andrew Késig, Sr. has been ill for some time and we all wish him a speedy recovery. Also on the sick list is Mrs. Martin Magyaros who was confined to the City Hospital for a few days with pneumonia. We hope to see her up and about real soon. Loy Ream, President of the William Penn Athletic Club reports that 21 members are going to Cleveland November 10, to see the Browns and Steelers battle it out. The Browns’ Johnny Borton and the Steelers’ Len Dawson are native Alliance boys — so who do we root for? Alliance will surely be well represented in the Cleveland Stadium and those of us Who can’t go will be glued to our radio sets. All the members of the William Penn Athletic Club are working very diligently at several projects to raise enough money to buy jackets for their Little League class G Champs. They are very proud of the little fellows and the new jackets will surely identify them to the world as champs! Now with baseball season well over, the Athletic Club has turned its interests to bowling and is sponsoring a team in the Inter- Shop League. Bob Mason is captain and the other members are Bob Allen, Mike Bilcze, Harold Eye, Paul Buttermore, Mike Buzagony and Frank Bolog. Currently the -boys are leading the League, and well they should, with the beautiful new bowling shirts the Athletic Club got for them. I won’t attempt a description, — Come out and see for yourself. The team bowls the 6:30 shift on Friday night downstairs at the Recreation Lanes. Bob Mason, secretary of the Athletic Club reminds members that meetings are held the first Sunday of each month at 3:00 at the Club Rooms. The dues are only a dollar (1.00) a month and anyone interested in joining this up and coming Club has only to come to a meeting and he will be most welcome. Election of officers will take place at the December 1 meeting. Delinquent members are requested to come forth and pay their back dues so the Club can start the new year with a clean slate and some money in the treasury. Incidentally, refreshments will be served at the December meeting. Loy Ream, President and Bob Mason, secretary, are getting ready for a big turnout. So don’t forget — December 1, at 3:00 at the William Penn Club. The William Penn Hungarian Women’s Club donated $10.00 to the Salvation Army for Christmas baskets. Mrs. Louis Tosha, Sr. is president of this fine Club which meets the second Saturday each month. The November Hostesses are Mrs. John Korosy, Sr. and Mrs. Philip Ferlotti. The women W’ork most diligently and always are the first to offer their services for a worthy cause. The next regular monthly meeting of Branch 189-V will be November 30 at 8:00 sharp. President John Barany and the Board would like to see many more members in attendance. Everyone is welcome to come and voice his opinion!! In closing, I would like to say that this column from Alliance is the brainchild of too many for one person to sign his name and that’s why we simply sign, ALLIANCE HAS SPOKEN Christmas % Seals News From Northwestern Ohio BRANCH 27-V TOLEDO, OHIO By Stephen J.
