A FAMILY OF BOWLERS Here is a father-son combination, the Hajash family, Steve (father), Andy, Martin, Nick and Joe, who are going to make their presence felt at the William Penn National Bowling Tournament to be held in Buffalo, New York, May 12-13, 1956. To our knowledge this is the first family of bowlers ever to register for competition in our big nationwide sports event. The five formerly bowled separately, but this year they have bowled as a unit. The Hajash family are members of Branch 482, Beckley, West Virginia. Branch 482 has for years enjoyed the capable management of the Louis Galls of Glen Daniel. Mrs. Gall succeeded her husband as manager when he resigned the position. 1 ■ ■ niiaHa■ ■ ■ b■ aunh■ ■■ ■ ■anaiaiam■ n■ ■ ■ ■ ■ m " QUAKER CITY NEWS Branch 76 Philadelphia, Pa. ■— By L. Everyone is well. An interesting event took place at the February meeting of Branch 76.' Mr. Schmidt hadn’t attended a meeting for a long time, but when he read in the WILLIAM PENN journal that Branch 76 boasted of nearly 500 members, he felt that he just had to attend the meeting and congratulate each one personally which he did. This was a nice gesture on his part and his presence added greatly to the success of the meeting. We hope to see you, Mr. Schmidt, at future meetings. * ¥ * We had just written in our February 70th Anniversary issue that Mr. Julius Torok was the oldest member of Branch 76, when our Lord called him on February 6th. Mr. Torok came to America fifty years ago from Hungary and would have reached the age of 90 in September of this year.
